I would like to tell you a little about the temperament of a German Shepherd dog. German Shepherds are highly active dogs, fearless, but not hostile and often are described in breed standards as self-assured and never shy. We have a willingness to learn. Shepherds can become over-protective of their family and territory, especially if not socialized correctly. Due to our loyal temperament, Shepherds bond well with children we know. A Day in the Life of a Dog Now, I would like to share with you a typical day is in the life of Buddy Boy Mertens. First thing in the morning, I wake up and if I am lucky, I get to put my wet nose on my owner's mouth. It is the best way to wake them up. Once I am put outside, my dog dish is filled up with food.
